May Utah trip

In the midst of all the funeral planning and events, we were able to get some fun and friend time in. It was usually only for a short time, but it was good to see so many people who wanted to make sure we were ok.
Brooke with Merrill (and his cousin) at the park for lunch
The Nott's couldn't stay for long, but after they left we enjoyed some more time at the park in the sun.
It was Tanner's first time on the swing. He LOVED it, but wouldn't unclench his fists.
Brooke tooke some time to smell the wonderful tulips!
One of Brooke's favorite activities at Grandma Sugar's is to jump on the tramp. She especially loves it when Grandma jumps with her. At first, when they came home, Grandma was in a skirt and Brooke asked if she could come jump on the tramp. To which, Grandma responded, "I can't right now. I don't have my tramp clothes on." So every time after that Brooke wanted Grandma to jump with her, she would ask Grandma "Do you have your tramp clothes on?" To the unknowing ear, many might worry what kind of clothes her Grandma wears! ;) It's fun little joke now.
Enjoying some "tramp" time with Grandma.
Daddy spelled Grandma off because some friends showed up.

Brooke loves jumping with Daddy too!

Nate wanted to be in the pictures too... Well done Mr. GQ

People amazed me with how much loved they showered us with! We were brought meals after meals and treats after goodies! It was touching to see so many band together after such a tragedy. The Sunday after Wendy passed, Mom & Dad's ward went over and did a top to bottom full scrub down of the house. The hauled out the washer to be fixed, they cleaned and shampoo'd the carpets, they pruned the trees and weeded, they washed the walls. The place looked AMAZING!!!
These baskets were some of the goodies they brought by for the grandchildren. There were a basket of snacks, a basket of coloring stuff and activities for boys and a separate basket for the girls. They were so thoughtful!

Again, the food was SOOO much and it was SOOO good.

The flower arrangements that were sent were beautiful and made the house smell soo good and fresh.

Brookie and Daddy... one of my favorite pictures of them

Doing the pucker faces...

We were even brought playdough ice cream for the grandkids, but I think Dan was most excited for this!

Again, Brooke loves jumping with her cousins.
Kenna, Evan and Jules playing in the sand box.
We were staying at Dan's sister's house in Draper. We usually stayed at Mom and Dad's pretty late, and Brooke usually fell asleep on my lap while I tickled her back. Then we would lay her on the couch and she would be OUT! She would play so hard and drop so hard.

We also got to go to In 'N Out while we were there! It was so yummy with fun company!
Tanner had his first In N Out french fry too. He LOVED it.
Brookie and Grandma Sugar playing "Crack the Egg"

Brooke loved playing in the dress up's... she especially loved Cinderella!

Dan taking a snooze with Tanner... We slept where and when we could. Sleep was hard to find that week. Usually couldn't sleep when we could, and could sleep when we couldn't.

Rachel adored Tanner. It was so cute to watch.
My happy boy!!!

The day we left, Brooke had to get one last jump in.

On our drive home, we made a couple more stops than usual. We would stop to let the kids get out and stretch. We usually drive at night while they sleep, but we had to drive during the day to go home. But on one of the rest stops Tanner was sitting in the driver seat and grabbed Dan's drink, of course he was super happy because he was out of his carseat. So of course, I grabbed my camera!

While in Price, we ran into the craziest storm. It was hailing. The street, you can see... is hail. Completely covered in hail! But it was still bright and sunny... kinda.. It was over in like 5 minutes and was totally fine after that. It was funny.

This trip was hard, but nice to be together. It was definitely bittersweet. We got to attend a temple session as a family and go out for ice cream after. We all had many great moments together to help ease the pain of being alone. It was real hard to drive home. We wanted to stay and just continue being together. Mom and Dad did go back to Africa to train the next couple that was taking their place. They were home for 2 weeks and then went back to Africa for 6 weeks. They came home on July 4th. More about that later. I can't believe how blessed I am to be apart of this amazing family.
