Our first "job" going to Denver!
So, as you know in my other blog, I got a job taking a little 5 year old girl, Hailey, to see her Dad almost every month in Denver! She is so cute and LOVED little Brookie, almost a little too much. She wanted to share EVERYTHING with her, including her grapes! Well, a funny story, on the plane as soon as the seat belt light went off she said she had to go potty. I just looked at her and asked if she could hold it or if she needed to go now. She was sitting by the window, I was in the middle with Brooke on my lap and another gentleman (who was SO nice and patient with us, and who looked like Robert Downy Jr. I might add...) was sitting on the aisle. So, we all FINALLY got out of the row and headed to the back. Well, as we're standing the flight decided to go from bumpy to VIOLENTLY TURBULENT! So bad, that the flight attendant told the little girls (there was another one back there)to sit in their jump seats, even though we're not suppose to. So I'm standing with Brooke in my arms, holding on to the walls, trying to keep my balance while waiting for the bathroom. Then the Captain turns the seat belt sign on! But I decided we needed to still do this... Finally its our turn, I'm not about to let her go in by herself. I don't know if she's the kind that would come out pants down saying "help me wipe". So to my dismay, the bathroom is the TINIEST THING EVER! It's smaller than a coat closet in an Alaska apartment... (some of you will understand that...) You cannot move when you're in there. It took me several minutes and a couple Cirque Du Soleil moves to be able to turn around and just lock the door! She's barely able to pull her pants down. (KEEP IN MIND IT'S ROCKING AROUND LIKE CRAZY!) As, we're in there, she looks up at me and says "My mommy lets me go in here alone". YOU COULDN'T HAVE TOLD ME THAT LIKE 5 MINUTES AGO!? So I said, "Ok, well next time you can." She finally gets her pants up, and we start to wash her hands and guinness in there before us, just put the paper towel in the sink. So it's starting to back up and there's no "Emergency Hole" to let it out. I'm trying to get all her soap off, without making a HUGE mess, while holding Brooke, while trying stabilize myself and not get a concussion from hitting my head on the walls from the turbulence! It then took me another Cirque Du Soleil move to get us out of the bathroom. We finally got back to our seats in one piece and she asks for peanuts and apple juice. She doesn't eat them, she sucks the salt off and spits them back out. Then she the Captain said to chug our drinks because the attendants needed to seat in their seats too. So I had to chug my Sprite (which I didn't have time to even touch beforehand) AND THEN CHUG HER APPLE JUICE TOO! It was quite the first experience. To say the least I learned what to do and NOT to do.

I guess that is why children come to us as babies and not 5 year olds, so that we have a little time to figure all those little details out! That is so funny! Well, I'm glad you made it back safely.
