January 2012

January was a fun month.  We had all sorts of fun stuff going on.  One of the big things was we got to go skiing/snowboarding!  I haven't been since I was a beehive in Young Women's (age 12)... so needless to say it had been 13 years!  I'm also super happy to report that I didn't biff it ONCE!  It was AWESOME!  It came back so easily and fast to me! We went to Winter Park with the Riewerts and my brother Collin.  Collin was able to hook us up with free passes and free rentals, so our only cost was lunch! :) GOTTA LOVE THAT!  I did somewhere around 5-8 runs, I stayed mostly on greens and blues, I didn't want to push myself too much. Unfortunately Heather R. had a bad wipe out that bruised her ribcage for a while at the end of the day.  :(

It was a perfect day because it wasn't crowded and the weather wasn't too cold.
The Riewerts... we even got some new snow!  Yeah for powder!
On this one run, when we got to the top, it was a total WHITE OUT.  It was crazy!  You could barely see who or what was in front of you.  This was also the run that we got separated from the boys who went into a terrain park.  Oh well!
By the end of the day though, we got some great sun and it was overall an AWESOME day!

MORE OF JANUARY....
Tanner and Brooke watching Mickey on the computer.  Brooke didn't want Tanner to be distracted and held his head so nice so he could watch with her!

Tanner loves his Brady, but for some reason he found this damp rag (clean) and decided it was also going to be his new love. :)

I gave Tanner a dum-dum in the car and when I got him out, I couldn't find it, I thought he had chucked it somewhere.  Low and behold though when we got inside... TA-DA!  In the hair...

Tanner started to learn that he likes to be naked... This is mild compared to what we've found recently.

We had some friends come over on Saturday and it was quite the day for Dan.  :)  He said I could go out and do our monthly shopping while he stayed with the kids! (yes! no kids shopping!) So while I'm out I got this call... pretty much asking if I was coming home soon.  What happened was Tommy had thrown up on the stairs from coughing too hard, Lexi had peed Brooke's bed, Brooke was trying to help (aka, get in the middle of it all) and Tanner was screaming in his crib... all inside of 5 minutes.  :)  Needless to say, he was a superdad and cleaned them all up all by himself! I told him "welcome to motherhood". :)

Brooke finds my camera frequently and these are the beauties I find. :)

I looked over one day to find Tanner trying to do the dishes.  What cute little helper!  You just keep that attitude dude!

We gave Tanner Spaghetti with sauce for the first time.  Needless to say he loved it.  Our tub had to be scrubbed down from the orange ring after his bath. :)

My brother Aaron left to go back to school in Jan.  I came to help them pack him up and get him on the road.  I was in a crazy mood and got my brothers to help me box in hair and dance around her.  She was freaking out, we were dying laughing! :)
This is right before he left.  My sister and I were on the back...

we were holding on like this... and he started to pull out.  We thought it was fun because it was a ride! :)  Well.. Aaron had another idea....
..to SLAM on the breaks after he started going!  Yeah... we face planted because we didn't have any hands to brace us since they were holding on to the tailgate... As you can see Collin died from laughing... Haley and I were laughing pretty hard too! :)

In January, I also got to take an Annie Sloan painting class from the Little Black Chair I got for Christmas!  It was SOOO MUCH FUN!  I'm so anxious to go out and paint all my 15+ projects in my garage.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE this paint!  Although, it seems I should have a clean house before I go out and paint... so needless to say... I haven't done much painting. I need to figure this priority thing out! :)

Tanner also had his first Oreo!  He loved it! :)

A big fun thing in our family, are buffets.  A Golden Corral opened up by our house and my Grandma loves to take us.  They got chocolate fountain hats.  The kids loved the variety.  I'm pretty sure Tanner got our money's worth for ALL of us! :)
