February 2013

Grandma soaking up some Wendy stories
Look at that double chin!  First of my babies to fill out!
Just a cute text Danny sent me one random day.  I'm so lucky to have a great man.
I came into Tanner's room one night and Brooke had snuck into sleep with him.
Wendy's blessing was such a special day.  February 3, 2013. It was my cousins birthday, as well as the Super Bowl.  It was also the last time I would have all our family and friends over to our home in Denver for a family get together and meal.  Dan's parents also flew in for it.  It was perfect. I will do a separate post on her blessing.

Her "after-blessing-dress"
Tanner shared his "Woody" doll with Wendy so she could go to sleep. So sweet.
2 days after Wendy's blessing, our home officially went on the market. It was under contract the next day for over list price.  Just another sign everything was pointing to us moving to GJ.
My beautiful home the day it went on the market. 2/5/13

My Dad came by one night unannounced and read to the kids.  I really was going to miss this.

My precious sleeping baby.
The weekend after our home went on the market, I drove to Grand Junction for the weekend to start looking for homes there.  The night our house went under contract I was on my knees saying my nightly prayers just sobbing.  I was so sad our house was gone.  Even though I still had a month to live in it, I knew as sellers, it was literally impossible to get out of the sale.  In one month, my house would no longer be my house. I was pleading with my Heavenly Father to help us find a home in Fruita/Grand Junction that I could love just as much and we could make our own.  The next morning in my email was our home.  It had just come on the market that day.  Divine Intervention for sure.
Wendy's first road trip... she was so happy to lay flat after hours in the carseat. :)
When we went to Fruita, we tried to set up with our Real Estate agent to see this home.  For some reason the other broker did have a key to the home yet and the people (renters) living in it were out of town.  So we only got to drive by.  Sunday after attending the ward the home was in, we decided to drive by again and see if anyone was home.  Danny knocked on the door and low and behold they were.  They were so nice and let us in and showed us the home.  I LOVED it.  It turned out they were trying to buy that home, but the short-sale was taking too long so they bought a different home downt the street, but same model. :)  They gave the seller (landlord) our info and they contacted us.  We made an offer and started the process!  We also were able to work out with the sellers that we could live in the home for $1000/month rent until the sale closed!  It totally worked out so well!  We finally ended up closing on the home in Sept 2013, 7 months after we made the offer.  There were some times in that 7 months where some were worried we wouldn't get the house and we would have to move again.  I knew the Lord had given me this sign way back in February that this was our home.  I never doubted we wouldn't close.  The Lord followed through for us.
Our new Fruita home!
My family wasn't the most thrilled we were moving, he told us that we might as well move to Florida bc that would at least be better because of the beaches.  To which, I came back "But we will have PEACHES!" The song "Peaches" by The Presidents of the United States became our theme song.  So when we were looking around Fruita to get to know it, we found "PEACH STREET"!  haha!
You better believe we looked for a home to buy on this street!
Swimming at the hotel is the best!
What Wendy did while the rest were swimming!
After the pool, we bathed the kids.  Tanner got out and then turned around to ask Brooke, "So Brookie, how's your bath?"  This was the pose he made! This kid "cracks" me up! ;)
Mr. GQ!

The roads were bad going back to Denver, so we ended up staying an extra day.  To pass the time at the hotel, we went and got some crafting supplies to make some Valentines since we wouldnt get to be with Daddy on Valentines Day.

Brooke's birthday is in March, but we decided to throw her a birthday party in Feb with all her family and friends before we moved.
Happy 5th Birthday!
Brooke REALLY wanted a ballet dance party. So I found a high school student who had been doing ballet for years and paid her to come teach the girls some moves and dance for and with them.  THEY ALL LOVED IT!

Good morning Sunshine!
